Praise the Lord!

You have awakened, and faced the reality of your life calls for your repentance, and return to your commitment to follow the Lord.  Are you aware He has been waiting for you to return to Him all the time you were away. Just let Him know you have come home to Him and desire to be what He wants you to be.

If this is the first time that you are aware of your need for His forgiveness and desire to put your trust in Jesus Christ, accepting Him for who He is and what He has done for you, tell Him so!  For He is no farther from you, than the thoughts of your heart. Consider Psalm 34:18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

A contrite spirit is to feel broken, so much so as to be ground to pieces for offending God, and hurting Jesus to the point He had to be crucified for you.  Consider Isaiah 57:15 "For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones."

When reading God's Word He is talking to you.  When you are talking to God honestly you are praying.

From God's perspective to get saved by Him is thanking Him for having come to live His life without sin in your place. He is looking for a heart of repentance, broken for Jesus Christ having to suffer the cross in your place to pay for your sinThen let God know you want to give up going your own way, and follow Him, He will receive you, and make you His own.

CAUTION Honesty is the key that brings the Lord's answer of acceptance.  So please check out your own heart to be assured that the Lord's promise is yours.

If it is your desire to put your trust in Jesus Christ and accept Him for who He is and what He has done for you, tell Him so. He will hear you and will receive you, adopt you and make you one of His own.

John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"

Acts 2:21 "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved"

Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

As Jesus made this invitation to all, let us remember such a privilege does not come without a responsibility. Consider John 10:27  "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:"

Notice two important responsibilities.

1. Jesus said "My sheep hear my voice"  Jesus said His sheep hear Him, (not the opinions of others)  All the truth of Him, and by Him, comes from the Word of God.

2. Jesus said "I know them, and they follow me:" That is clear and to the point. He knows them because they follow Him. Belief is not a word but an action of following.

Consider the glorious privilege of following Christ, and having the responsibility of representing Christ in this world." John 17:17-20 (KJV) " 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. 20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;"

Furthermore consider 2 Cor. 5:14-21 (KJV) 14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

While this is a heavy responsibility it is not to be afraid of, as Christ will do it for you and through you IF you let Him, as proven by the Apostle Paul. Consider Gal. 2:20   "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."

All Christ wants and needs is the life He paid for, that others will know He lives and come to Him. God bless you, and may your decisions bring you the promise Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
